As of today, at least 10 Red men will represent their respected countries in the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
With Uruguay qualifying and Luis Suarez booking his ticket, world cup qualifying has officially closed. 10 reds will represent a total of seven different countries throughout the world.
Kolo Toure(Ivory Coast), Victor Moses(Nigeria), Luis Suarez(Uruguay), Lucas(Brazil), Simon Mignolet(Belgium), Mamadou Sakho(France), Glen Johnson, Jordan Henderson, Steven Gerrard, and Daniel Sturridge(England) will all travel to Brazil.
Most of these names have something in common. Five out of ten have been signed within the last year, showing just how far Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers’ transfer season strategy has paid off the Reds.
On top of the ten mentioned players Liverpool also have two who have been recent call-ups for their squads, Sebastian Coates(Uruguay) and 18 year old Raheem Sterling of England. Both players will look to impress both their club team and international side with hopes of breaking through into both.
