Metro: Liverpool make Alexis Sanchez offer

According to reports in Britain’s Metro newspaper Arsenal are now the front runners to sign Barcelona star, Alexis Sanchez. It is thought that the Chilean international would prefer a move to London rather than Liverpool which has thrown the Anfield hierarchy in to making one last bumper offer for exciting forward.

The Gunners are thought to be offering around 135,000 GBP a week to get their man but Liverpool see Sanchez as an ideal replacement for striker, Luis Suarez, who looks set to complete his move in the opposite direct sometime next week. Liverpool boss, Brendan Rodgers, wanted the whole thing to be completed as apart of a swap deal but with Arsenal’s interest in Alexis growing that suddenly didn’t seem possible. Now Liverpool look set to offer 150,000 GBP a week, which Metro are reporting is an offer that Arsenal simply can not match.

I have already said that I think it is the right move to sell Suarez at the moment. We are in a position of power after last season’s success to replace him with more than one option, but getting Alexis Sanchez was key to my thoughts. He is a top top talent and I am actually unsure as to why the Spanish club want to cash in. It seems that the new manager wants to stamp his own authority of the squad early and Liverpool should do everything in their power to clean up the pieces. I am pretty sure that is what Brendan Rodgers is saying right now to those in charge of the club. I just hope that, Alexi Sanchez isn’t a name added to the list of exciting talent that nearly signed on at Anfield.
