Ah, the first chance fans will see Matip in a Liverpool shirt for real game action. Is it poor form to already look forward at time he’ll miss? Yeah? I’ll go ahead and do it anyway.

Matip is certainly an international level player but as he’s not European is why he’s already at preseason. Unfortunately, though, him being Cameroonian, he’ll miss about a month around January of this season for the African Cup of Nations. That’ll be actual game time rather than just a late arrival to preseason, which sucks.

Anyway. He sure looks to be Liverpool’s first choice defender and I can’t wait to watch that 6’4″ monster roam around the pitch gracefully.
