No.3 – FA Cup Revenge

Brighton & Hove Albion aren’t going to win the league. They know that. We know that. If Leicester hadn’t done it you’d believe to be impossible. But they could win a cup and they came very close to beating Man City and getting to the FA Cup final just a month ago.

That disappointment at Wembley will be fresh in their heads. When they look around and see those City players they will feel the hurt and the pain of dream that was taken from them.

If they can turn that pain into passion – into fury – then they stand a chance of hurting City.

It is hard to dominate this Pep Guardiola side. In fact we are the only team I’ve seen do it in the last two years. Brighton won’t be able to impose their will on them but they can rile them up enough to put them off their game and that is all Liverpool needs.

One of Liverpool’s best hopes is that City pick up some early yellow cards and maybe a red at some point. Things like that happen in games all the time. Why not Sunday?

Brighton have nothing to lose. They are safe. Does that mean they switch off at dream of the beach? If they were away I’d say yes. But at home for the last time this season, celebrating avoiding relegation; they can come out relaxed and ready.
