Inside-left: Sadio Mane 7/10

Mane made a few excellent darts down the left, and drew fouls from the Leicester defence as they were loath to let him enter the box and find shooting positions. Mane is so quick and so eager to find dangerous positions that the Foxes couldn’t leave him alone for a second.

Centre-forward: Roberto Firmino 6/10

He has the same amount of goals for Brazil as Liverpool this season and he missed an excellent chance at the back stick following Matip’s header across the face of goal.

Firmino missed another when he hit the post after being put clear on goal, and then failed to convert the follow-up – which was ruled to be 10mm away from crossing the line.

However, he pushed himself further forward and was hunting for goals – in many ways it was a little rebirth. Firmino finally got his goal after leaping highest from a corner and headed expertly into the net.

Inside-right: Diogo Jota 7/10

Jota had a goal correctly ruled out because of handball, but that doesn’t negate the fact that the Portugal international was lively and hunting for action and it paid off as he netted for the fourth home league game in a row.

He did miss a few excellent chances, but he’s getting in promising areas and really making a brilliant case to be considered as a first team regular.
