Form is temporary and class is permanent. Liverpool showed attacking finesse during their 3-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur.

Trent Alexander Arnold, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino were all on target to help Liverpool back to winning ways against a lacklustre Tottenham Hotspur. This win sees Liverpool beat Tottenham six times in a row in the premier league.

Well, I am pretty confident when I say that the worst is possibly behind us. I agree, four Premier League games without having scored a league goal did sound the alarm bells. However, that might just have been the peak of Jurgen Klopp’s bad run with this phenomenal Liverpool side. Many were sure that it was nothing but downhill from there.

But with this win over Tottenham, who have somewhat become a bogie team for Liverpool with six wins in six league games, Liverpool has re-established themselves as a threat. Yes, I mean it, one big win like this can change everything!

The front three looked comfortable once again. In fact, if not for a VAR decision, all three would have been on the scoresheet. They looked threatening, busy and wanted to score right from the onset. What was even better was the timing of the goals, which was crucial. They pressed and scored towards the end of the first half, which deflated Spurs.

There was no sign of the lack of fluidity in front of goal, there was no sign of the lack of creativity from the middle of the flanks, back to their very best!

Given that only Manchester City registered more shots on goal than Liverpool in the last four games, with Liverpool having notched up a stunning 70 plus shots on target, I am not stunned that the goalless run has come to an end!

Now it’s nothing but upwards for Klopp’s men. This win will give the team the confidence that was missing. To add to that, we are about a couple of weeks away from seeing Diogo Jota back in training, adding another lethal dimension to the Liverpool attack.

Liverpool are in the race

Well, one thing for sure is that you can’t anticipate anything this season. Teams at the top are losing to teams at the bottom, the highest-scoring team has not scored in the league for four games, club legends who are now managers are getting sacked during a pandemic hit season.
