Brendan Rodgers has come under a lot of criticism this season. Part of this criticism comes from Liverpool’s questionable summer transfers. Liverpool spent over 100 GBP bringing on eight players. Liverpool also sold six players for a combined 83 million GBP.

With that kind of spending fans expected to challenge for the Premier League title. However, Brendan Rodgers and Fenway Sports Group were unable to find a viable replacement for star forward Luis Suarez. Suarez netted 31 goals in 33 league appearances for the Reds. He was sold for 75 million GBP after his controversial World Cup.

Liverpool thought they could replace Suarez’s production with increased roles for Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling. Sterling has failed to live up to lofted expectations and Sturridge has been unable to stay healthy. Those two are just the beginning of disappointments for the Reds.

The busy transfer window has come under immense criticism with Liverpool currently sitting tenth in the table. With the new year approaching I am going to grade how the new signings have performed so far.

Grading Scale:

A- excellent performance

B- playing well, meeting expectations

C- has shown good signs but hasn’t impressed

D- poor form or cannot stay fit

F- terrible form and waste of money
