Assaidi looked a good player…

… in his skills YouTube video that we all watched once he signed. You’re lying if you said you heard about him prior to Rodgers signing him.

In the realm of attempting to spin news into a positive light, Assaidi was signed with few links or prior news reports. In the day of age in which Liverpool are literally linked with 75% of professional players across Europe, it was thought that this was the old Liverpool. They could sign players and do business behind closed doors.

Its surreptitious nature is the only positive about his acquisition.

Assaidi started just half a dozen games for Liverpool and failed to score. He was loaned to Stoke City the following season, scored five times. He returned to Stoke on loan for the next season, was recalled halfway through to be sold to Dubai.

An odd one, this.
