Divock Origi

It was another Belgian striker who got his first break under Klopp, both Sturridge and Benteke were injured before Klopp’s first game against Tottenham and Danny Ings joined the list as well. It was Origi who led the front line against Spurs and he missed a couple of glorious chances to get his name on the score sheet.

The performances thereafter weren’t all that brilliant from the former Lille striker. People were questioning the amount paid for him as the youngster was included in last season’s worst Ligue 1 team.

But football is a results oriented business and one game certainly has changed everything for the Belgian. His hat-trick against Southampton was perfect – well we don’t want to take away Alberto Moreno’s goal but that has been credited to Origi thus far – left foot, right foot and then the header.

Origi isn’t the finished article but Klopp believes that he is one of the players who has potential to get better and was targeted by other clubs before he came to Liverpool.

"“Everyone wanted Divock before Liverpool bought him but he has to be patient.”"

Well Liverpool have got him now and the onus falls on Klopp to turn this coal into a diamond under his rein.

Performance under Klopp: 7/10

Hat-trick aside, Origi hasn’t really done that great for the Reds but being only 20-years-old, he has time on his hand and who says that Klopp would not make the Belgian better as the season progresses.
