Roberto Firmino

The highly rated attacking midfielder was brought in from Hoffenheim for big money but he took a lot of time getting used to the Premier League. Under Brendan Rodgers, Firmino looked out of sorts and out of place but Klopp seems to have gotten him back into the groove.

Firmino was known for his work-rate in the Bundesliga as he thrived playing behind the striker but that was not the position he started for at Liverpool and Klopp got the best out of him when he was played as the central striker for Liverpool against Manchester City.

That game has been the highlight of Firmino’s short spell at Liverpool. His movement, pace and link-up play with Philippe Coutinho was phenomenal as the two Brazilians tore apart Manchester City at the Etihad.

Though Firmino would be better placed behind say a Sturridge or a Benteke, as he would provide them with the key passes and assists, his ability to play as the striker provides Klopp with a good problem. Having too many strikers is never an issue and this will only help Klopp as he has to deal with the various cup games that Liverpool are still competing in.

Performance under Klopp: 7/10

Firmino still has some work to do, it was only the Manchester City game that proved the price tag wasn’t extremely high but a few more performances like that one and Liverpool would have gotten a steal from the Bundesliga.
