The Uruguayan’s finish, the pure finish of where he struck it and how he struck it, was rather elementary.

Leading up to that point? Class.

It began with an attempted through ball to Jordan Henderson that failed, a terrific interception it must be said, but Suarez was relentless. Henderson recognized his teammate moving when everyone else stopped, gave him a layoff he may have been accustomed to in South America.

Nah, on second thought it was much too English.

As he’s running through on goal he leaves Kyle Walker to slide away and have a think about life with a deceitful hesitation then left Hugo Lloris stranded in the center of the goal with his, as previously described, elementary finish from about ten yards out.

A goal that blended innovation, skill, movement and work rate. The fusing of these skills that don’t typically come together is what lifts him to world class status.
