League leading Leicester City head to Anfield to play Jurgen Klopp’s slumping Liverpool. Rush The Kop’s predicted XI.

Liverpool limp into Boxing Day carrying a run of four games without a win. Their last win, 6-1 against Southampton in the Capital One Cup, sprung idiotic and shortsighted “title contender?” questions.

Since then, the Reds were abhorrently boring against Newcastle in a game that they lost 2-0 followed by a 0-0 draw in Switzerland against FC Sion that matched the insipid play of the weekend prior. After that, they drew West Brom 2-2 at Anfield thanks to a Divock Origi deflected late equalizer and most recently Watford’s 3-0 thrashing of Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Klopp has decisions to make about his team. Roberto Firmino was dross (again) against Watford and Christian Benteke was the last to come off the bench. About £60million of summer attacking talent that. Does Firmino retain his place due to his price tag? Does Benteke get another chance for the same reason?

The players are more than their transfer fee. They won’t continue to play just because there was big money spent, no, they have actual quality that just has rarely been shown this year. It (should) come, eventually.

But do they play against Leicester?

James Milner is out again and Martin Skrtel has joined the injured list. Dejan Lovren might be back.

So here’s Rush The Kop’s Liverpool predicted XI for their match against Leicester City. Changing up the formation: 4-2-2-2.
