Rush The Kop picks their XI as Liverpool travel to Sunderland in their final 2015 match.

Liverpool sit in tenth in the league as they head into their final match of a suspect 2015. The year had its peaks, but many more low points.

Okay, so tenth is a bit of a faux number. Liverpool have a game in hand on the rest of the league as they’re the last fixture of 2015. If they win, they’ll draw level with 6th placed Manchester United on 30 points, just five off fourth placed Tottenham.

The squad continues to thin. Divock Origi is the latest casualty while James Milner is still on the shelf with his calf injury.

Good injury news: Jon Flanagan completed 30 minutes with the U21 side for his first competitive football in 19 months!

Sunderland are 19th placed and seven points away from safety. Thankfully for them, they’re flying under the s–t radar because Aston Villa has been so utter dross and Chelsea is laying around near those relegation places.

Liverpool, after dropping points to Watford, West Brom and Newcastle this month, could really use three points. Plus, five points off 4th sounds a lot better than seven or eight and more disappointment against bottom feeding clubs. #analysis.

Jurgen Klopp tinged his formation to play two center midfielders last match against Leicester City to great effect, will he stick with that against Sunderland or will he go back to three in the middle of the park?

We at Rush The Kop think he should keep the CM’s at a duo, not re-expand to a trio.

What does that mean outside of this article? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Actually, less than nothing.

But in this context, we call for a 4-2-3-1. So that’s how we’ll go.
