Liverpool’s injury list continues to mount but they’ve got a game to play against Exeter City in the FA Cup. Rush The Kop’s Liverpool predicted XI.
Liverpool may have one fit center back around the senior roster. Though he’s a bit old.
No, not Kolo Toure, whose hamstring injury was mercifully constituted as just a “cramp”, but Jurgen Klopp. Maybe the ex-German second division defender will be forced to sign a contract and pick himself for central defense.
Back to Toure for a second, because he’s been ruled out there isn’t anywhere in the body of this to rant on him, look at the state of Liverpool fans: we’re so desperately hoping that Kolo Toure will be fit to play.
What if he can’t? What if the cramp is too much, what if it’s worse than a cramp? Then what? Put Emre Can in defense? Promote a youth team center back to go with the kiddie fullbacks?
Toure played well against Stoke City, he did. It’s hilarious listening to fans speak about Toure after either a very good game, or a very bad one.
Last year, after a bad game: Liverpool are such a joke. Kolo Toure sucks. He clearly is too old. He should never ever pull on the kit again it’s an absolute joke.
This year, after the Stoke game: When Martin Skrtel gets fit again he should stay on the bench I’d much prefer Toure and his experience in defense.
I actually read that last one on Twitter, reminding myself not to believe everything I see on the internet.
Anyways.
The back part of the team is absolutely ravaged by injuries while their two best midfielders and best striker are also victim to the plague. Jordan Henderson, Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge are the three players referenced.
The injury list reads long, as if its paid by word count ala a Charles Dickens’ novel. In addition to arguably Liverpool’s three best players include all of their center backs: Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho, Dejan Lovren, Toure and Joe Gomez.
AND THEN THE DAY BEFORE THE MATCH IN TRAINING JORDON IBE REPORTEDLY INJURED HIS HAMSTRING HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA.
Thankfully the FA Cup draw was kind to Liverpool with their opponents currently being in the bottom half of League Two, but a pessimist would say it would make a loss all the more unbearable should it happen.
Klopp will have some tinkering to do as well as running himself through a late fitness test to see if a player-manager career could form if only for a few weeks. Could you imagine?
Anyway. Without further wastefulness, Rush The Kop’s Liverpool predicted XI. 4-3-3.
