Liverpool vs Manchester United: Combined XI
By Ethan Lowe
RAM- Anthony Martial
You may remember Anthony Martial’s début goal against Liverpool, and if not, it’s going to be under this text. Martial makes it into this team due to his incredible talent, his pace, finishing and passing. For a 20 year old player to move for £35million, with little evidence of his skill, and then to come out despite the pressure and bag himself a début goal is incredible.
Martial has continued to show his quality throughout the season, getting 5 goals and 3 assists in 16 league games. His passing when played behind a central striker is surprisingly good, and he can thread the ball through with a nicely weighted curve pass. As expected and shown in the clip, Martial is a gifted dribbler of the ball, capable of adding a comfortable finish even when under pressure.
Martial takes his place in this team over the likes of Jordan Ibe, simply due to be more of a threat of goal. With Mata and Firmino alongside him, Martial can hope for plenty of service when running in behind the defence.
