Liverpool vs Manchester United: Combined XI
By Ethan Lowe
GK- David De Gea
This was an easy choice. David De Gea has come to establish himself as one of the world’s best goalkeepers, pulling out match winning saves effortlessly. He has probably earned United more points than the rest of the team deserve, preventing the side from conceding in situations where they probably should.
Personally, after last season when he saved every single chance Liverpool created, dragging his team to a 3-0 win by preventing Liverpool from getting a foothold in the game, I actually feel a little bit of jealous hatred for the Spanish keeper.
He makes it into the combined XI, easily beating shaky Simon Mignolet and the awful Adam Bogdan, both of which have contributed some shocking performances to the Liverpool team. With a better keeper in goal, there’s no doubt we would have beaten Arsenal in the last game, with their first being a poor attempt at a save from the Belgian Mignolet.
