Liverpool vs Manchester United: Combined XI

CDM- Marouane Fellaini
I hate Marouane Fellaini. I hate the fact that his physically dominant style of play actually works.
Being just over 6″3, Fellaini is key asset in the air. He can help prevent silly goals from set-pieces at one end, or head home a corner at the other. His strength and physicality are his strongest characteristics, and the Belgian uses these to bully the smaller players on the pitch.
Looking past that period when he was used as a striker at United, Fellaini can control the midfield reasonably well. I remember watching a Manchester Derby from last season, in which Fellaini dominated the midfield and outshone superstar Yaya Toure.
Fellaini beat smaller and weaker Lucas Leiva simply because not only can he use his strength more, but he can even score a few goals every now and then. James Milner also takes a defeat here despite his impressive work rates, along with Morgan Schneiderlin who just doesn’t have the same presence as the brutal Belgian.
