Liverpool host Manchester United on a short week after drawing Arsenal 3-3 at Anfield, Rush The Kop’s predicted XI.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp made some interesting decisions while his side were a goal down against Arsenal in the second half.

The chess match between Klopp and Arsene Wenger was impressive to behold, while the precipitation couldn’t decide if it wanted to drizzle, rain or snow.

Christian Benteke coming into the game while his side chased a goal was a no brainer. Just because any idiot with a FIFA 16 controller could’ve figured it out doesn’t take away from its impact: simple, obvious moves are smart, too.

From there, things got a bit wonky. Wenger slowly withdrew wingers and attacking midfielders for more defensive options. And Klopp, chasing a goal after the 80th minute passed, summons Joe Allen to check in. Allen enters for Emre Can, a more formidable player going forward but still a like for like switch.

A few minutes later, Steven Caulker is getting his kit on. A center back, comes into the game for Adam Lallana, an attacking mid. Klopp tells Caulker to just go stand around with Benteke and knock some balls down.

Liverpool score. Benteke, who found a bit more space when Caulker entered the box, wins a header down for Allen who scores. Liverpool tie, 3-3. Klopp’s decisions pay off.

Don’t expect Caulker to partner Benteke from the jump against Arsenal.

Scratch that. Who knows with Klopp, and usually he’s right.

Rush The Kop’s Liverpool predicted XI. 4-4-2 tight diamond.
