Liverpool player ratings: 0-1 Manchester United
By Tom Bogert
Adam Lallana (OFF 76′), 6:
Lallana is brilliant in the middle third. Then he disappears when he crosses into the final third, which is odd. De Gea made a beautiful save on Lallana after making a questionable decision to come out and try and challenge Lallana going through. Lallana tried a quick header around United’s keeper and it would’ve went in if not for a very good save.
Other than that, and the argument can be made that he really should’ve scored there, he seemed nonexistent in the attacking third. Lallana is so much better than this it feels like an anomaly and just a matter of time before he puts it together, right?
This is the type of game that Klopp will remember when he checks in on his squad and decides who stays and who goes. Does Lallana have the match winning ability? Does he need to? Both valid questions.
