(RB) Connor Randall – 5/Jon Flanagan – 7

I included both of these players here because they both played a large amount of the game. Connor Randall was quiet but effective. He helped defend the clean sheet and prevent Exeter from attacking, but he didn’t really have a lasting impact on the game, perhaps being overshadowed by the performance from Brad Smith.

Jon Flanagan made a long awaited return, and he impressed after coming on after roughly 50 minutes. He looked precise and effective when passing the ball and got in positions which drew opponents away from Jordan Ibe, allowing him free rein to be creative. Flanagan also made some good interceptions and looked surprisingly sharp. His return was better than expected, and I’m excited to see more of Flanagan!
