Young defender Jon Flanagan made a return to the Liverpool side on Wednesday after 20 months out with injury- and boy has he missed a lot of stuff.

Flanagan was given a fantastic reception when returning to action last night- as a sub in Liverpool’s 3-0 home win against Exeter in the FA Cup 3rd round replay. He hasn’t had a run-out in the team since the final day of the 2013/14 season, and has since undergone two major knee operations in his recovery.

Brazil legend Cafu, who Flanagan is often compared with on Merseyside, tweeted his congratulations as Flanagan got onto the field.
