Simon Mignolet – 3

Simon Mignolet gets a three because his poor performances are beyond a joke now. I said after he signed his contract extension that hopefully he comes out rejuvenated and full of confidence, but once again he disappoints with another shocking display.

The first goal conceded was sloppy, but there was a chance he could have gotten to it, however the second goal should have been saved. Yes, Naismith took a good strike, but a good goalkeeper would at least get closer to actually making the save than Mignolet’s pathetic effort. He even dove the right way and still couldn’t stop the penalty for the third goal. Arguably, Bassong’s shot was a hard shot to save, so he can’t be entirely blamed.

He was left exposed far too often due to some poor defending, and I feel like it would be harsh to give him any less than the four he deserves.
