Lucas Leiva – 6.5

Lucas Leiva marked his 300th Liverpool appearance with a decent performance. The Brazilian was essential to preventing more goals in the first half, and he did another impressive job when required at centre-back. He looked involved in the game and wasn’t shying away from any physical and scrappy play, which is always needed from a deep lying midfielder.

I feel as though Lucas is still underrated at Liverpool, but the midfield as a whole just doesn’t seem strong enough. Its a section of the pitch filled with good individual players, but together they don’t manage to perform all that well.
