Joao Teixeira – 8 Man of the Match

Joao Teixeira is a really promising player, who has an awful lot of skill on the ball. His dribbling and clever touches are impressive, but this game highlighted his creativity. His movement saw him earn several chances which were denied by good blocks or impressive saves, and Teixeira was unlucky not to get on the score-sheet.

His control combined with his dribbling, and saw him frequently play some key passes through to Benteke, who could have done more to capitalise on them. Joao Teixeira gets man of the match from Rush the Kop because his creativity and vision created some of the most promising attacks against West Ham, despite having physicality used against him and being floored on several occasions.
