Liverpool play Augsburg in the Europa League round of 32. Rush The Kop’s predicted XI.

Right, so Liverpool begin knockout play in the

Champions League

Europa League against German side Augsburg. With Liverpool being so far adrift the top four in both points and performances (when we don’t include matches against Aston Villa) the Europa League shifts to highest priority.

Well, after the League Cup final, of course. Unfortunately the return leg of this tie against Augsburg comes just three days before the League Cup final, so Liverpool will want to be in a position of resting as many players as possible come the return leg. This first match is of the utmost importance.

It must be said that luck was on Liverpool’s side in the draw. A lower mid-table club in Germany, a club that Jurgen Klopp should know plenty about. Augsburg are in 14th place (of 18) in the Bundesliga.

Liverpool, for the first time in what seams like the entire season, don’t have two games this week. Their next two games will be against Augsburg, thanks to their FA Cup loss to West Ham, before the League Cup final.

Klopp travels home to Germany as he leads Liverpool against Augsburg.

Rush The Kop’s Liverpool predicted XI. 4-2-3-1.
