Despite Toure’s goal and the cleansheet kept against Aston Villa, Liverpool’s defense needs Sakho to step back into his form from October through November before he got injured. That was the apotheosis of his season that he hasn’t reached since that first injury, and Liverpool’s defense needs Sakho to return to form.
Maybe they can get by Augsburg without it. But it’d make the League Cup final against Manchester City that much more difficult and every subsequent round of the Europa League, should the Reds advance.
