CM Jordan Henderson: STAY

Jordan Henderson’s influence from this club is inextricable. Anyone telling you otherwise is just painfully searching for a #HOTTAKE to get some cheap clicks. It’s that simple.

In this modern world of sensationalism, there will be some of those. Unfortunately.

Henderson’s heel injury has undercut his season of stepping into the arm band for real. He had the honor last season when Steven Gerrard was either injured or dropped by Rodgers, but this season it was undeniably his club. He didn’t have Gerrard to lean on, he didn’t have Gerrard behind him telling everyone that Hendo was the man.

During the first two matches, he looked the part. Then he got hurt for a few months, which sucks.

Henderson hasn’t played up to his abilities since returning. He’s blossoming into a complete box-to-box central midfielder, an important component to a Klopp side. Well, any manager’s side, really. He’d accrued the ability to delicately place a long range pass, no doubt with the help of Gerrard, and was cultivating a shot from distance that had to, at the worst, be respected.

He still has all of those tools, mind. Coalesced with his brazen disregard to expected amounts of running renders him a complete midfielder.
