ST Danny Ings: STAY

Imagine a gegenpressing Klopp side with Ings, Henderson, Milner, Coutinho and Firmino scattered around the front part of the team? The ground covered would be insane as would tackles thrown in. We’ll have to wait until next season for that to potentially be a reality.

Poor Ings, man. Ings tore his ACL in Klopp’s first training session at Liverpool. So, like Gomez, Klopp has yet to really work with Ings.

The striker endeared himself to the fans with his relentless work rate, paired with some quality, and the way he carries himself during a game. That picture up there of him celebrating against Everton is exactly how all the fans watching on the couches were. Pure passion.

That goal was one of just two he was able to score before he got injured across eight appearances. Three of those appearances were as a substitute and one of them was when Rodgers set the team against Manchester United to defend like a small club, and Ings was sent to play a defensive left midfield.

There won’t be any of that under Klopp. And Klopp will let that boy run and run and run and run freely.
