ST Divock Origi: STAY

Hey remember everything we wrote about Ibe? Yeah, same goes here. Like, who’s saying that Liverpool should sell a 20-year-old striker who bossed the 2014 World Cup when he was 18-years-old, keeping Romelu Lukaku out of the team? Nobody.

We’ll discuss his strengths and weaknesses, then.

Origi has scored five goals this season, more than half of which came in one match against Southampton, where he had a hat-trick en route to a 6-1 rout. His finishing ability is decent, but needs to be sharpened. He, like Ibe, is still figuring out timing. Specifically, when to take another touch in the final third or when to just shoot it. He’s been plagued by last ditch blocks all too often this season.

His movement has been good and he’s gotten better, more comfortable with playing time. He was growing into the team before he injured his hamstring. No matter, he returned and scored against Aston Villa.

If he turns into half the player he looked like he’d be after the World Cup, he’ll have some good years at Liverpool.
