ST Daniel Sturridge: STAY

The talk of binning Sturridge for his injury record is absolutely nonsense. Fans burn kits and loathe some players for life for leaving, like Fernando Torres and Raheem Sterling, but lose faith with a player the minute he’s under performing or out of the team? Absolute hypocrisy.

Torres and Sterling both left when more lucrative contracts appeared as well as a better footballing situation. Guess what: fans wishing for Sturridge to be moved on are the same “snakes” that they claim Sterling and Torres to be.

This issue does my head in. It exasperates me to no end.

So what if Sturridge is frangible. It sucks, it’s frustrating, but it’s not as if he’s driving a knife into his hamstring himself to get out of work. There’s not a person on the planet who’s more upset that Daniel Sturridge gets injured more than Daniel Sturridge.

The player has been a great ambassador for the club, he’s created the image that he loves Liverpool, and it seems like he does. If the reports that he was hurt how the club handled his injuries and the backlash, well, yeah I’d probably be too.

Stand by Sturridge. It’s the right thing to do, plus in a business sense, he’s still a top three player at the club, if not the best, when fit.
