ST Christian Benteke: SELL

For what it’s worth, I thought Benteke would be a success at Liverpool. And I still hold out hope that he might. But it’s clear he doesn’t work well under Klopp and he’s clearly second choice. His game just doesn’t suit his manager well, his only chance would be Liverpool playing with  two strikers, either forfeiting a number in the midfield or on the wing, something that Klopp doesn’t seem fond of.

The man brought in for £32.5million never really found his feet and has been the de facto highest goal scorer on the team if for no other reason than default.

Benteke is a physical presence who isn’t getting the right service nor style of play at Liverpool. Similar to Andy Carroll, which is a shame because Benteke is much better with his feet and seemed a bit more mobile. It’s a shame this is how it’s turning out, but if Liverpool are to bring in a pacey front man, and they need to, funds will be generated from a Benteke sale as well as eliminating a possible log jam.
