GK Adam Bogdan: SELL

Liverpool’s goalkeeping choices have been absolutely dire this season. Every time I became inundated with Mignolet’s incompetence I’d think “give Bogdan a shot. He certainly cannot be any worse.”

With an incredulous sigh, it was evident that, indeed, it was possible to be worse than Mignolet. Congratulations, Bogdan, you did the impossible.

Bogdan proved this against Watford, spilling a corner kick delivered straight into his chest with no one around him. All alone. It hit him in the chest, he didn’t even need to jump through a crowd and grab the ball at its apotheosis.

Nope, delivered right to him at a comfortable speed. He dropped it, Nathan Ake scored in the 3rd minute. Chasing the game is much more difficult than playing even or ahead.

Watford went on to dismantle Liverpool, thoroughly deserving a 3-0 victory that could and probably should have been worse.

Liverpool fans did their diligence, attempted to give Bogdan the benefit of the doubt. It was his first Premier League match since getting scored on by his opposite number Tim Howard (yes, a goalie) and it was his first involvement of the match.

Bogdan’s next start was against League Two Exeter City, who put two past him. Including a direct corner that he flailed his arms towards, and just missed. They day that happened he lost his privilege of jokingly being compared to Ed Sheeran, by the way.

He’s been cloistered ever since. He hasn’t been called to the bench since Danny Ward was recalled from loan.

Onto the defenders.
