RB Jon Flanagan: STAY

Poor Flanagan has been sharing similar injury luck that Daniel Sturridge has had to endure. It was a proud moment for the player when he made his return, something the fans certainly understood.

The tough tackling, deceptively fleet footed fullback is a good rotation option who’s adept at playing either side of the pitch, a real useful trait to have in a fullback.

Before his near two year injury hiatus, he was last seen as a key member of Liverpool’s near title winning side. He looked a player with big upside, a Scouser, someone fans desperately wanted to see succeed. And they were seeing it.

Then the injuries set in, robbing him key developmental time. Is his ceiling as high nowadays? Only time will tell.

But it’s not a difficult decision to want to keep Flanagan. They kept him when he was still out injured, that’s what they’ll do again now that he’s fit. When he displays no rust and injury free matches, Liverpool can confidently hand him a multi-year deal.
