CB Mamadou Sakho: STAY

Easy. Nothing to see here, no second thoughts, none.

Sakho will likely get the first crack at forming a partnership with Matip in preseason. The two will probably be Liverpool’s first choice pairing, bar a world class signing at the heart of defense. I’m not holding my breath.

The Frenchman hasn’t quite reverted himself to top class form that he displayed initially when Klopp arrived. Sakho looked a world class defender for a five or six game run, which was awesome to get to experience a top class central defender for a bit. When was the last time Liverpool had that? Daniel Agger between injuries? Jamie Carragher during his prime? It’s been a while.
