Firmino has been in fine form and City would know that better than anyone. But, had de Bruyne been fit, he wouldn’t have made it in this attacking midfield trio.

That’s nothing to be ashamed of, these three players range from world class to borderline world class. Even Raheem Sterling can’t crack this combined trio, and *barely audible through gnashing teeth* he’s a very good player in his own right.

Back to Firmino. The Brazilian has been the heartbeat for Liverpool’s attacking play since the turn of the New Year, with the injuries to Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge as well as the lack of form from Christian Benteke. Firmino found his feet at Liverpool when the club needed him most.

Now, it’s exciting to see if his partnership with Coutinho can continue to grow, and if Sturridge can stay healthy to render a devastating front line at Liverpool.
