CB Vincent Kompany

The Manchester City captain anchors this combined back line. When he’s fit and on form, he’s a great center back. The only problem is he’s prone to a mistake when he’s out of form. Just ask Philippe Coutinho. But he’s still City’s best defender and would be Liverpool’s best.

Kompany’s influence has been confirmed by the calamity that ensued for City after he got injured. The Belgian is their leader, they need him in defense.

In recent memory, Liverpool have been able to get after Kompany, which bodes well by way of confidence heading into Sunday.
