Liverpool player ratings: Capital One Cup Final
By Ethan Lowe
Daniel Sturridge – 7
Provided a key low cross Liverpool’s only goal, but failed to test Caballero. He could have done far better, but I think you need to give him credit for working so hard after just returning from injury. He might benefit from a striking partner, and the poor guy collected his runners-up medal in tears. I’m probably harsher than most on Sturridge, because I think he seemed to have less ferocity than we’d expect.
Substitutes –
Divock Origi – 7
He pushed the motivation in Liverpool’s favour, and his movement brought plenty of optimism to the side. He changed the flow of the game, and looks to have a very positive future ahead.
Adam Lallana – 7
Should be given a 10 for his scrap with Yaya Toure, who should have been sent off for his pathetic overreaction and disgusting behaviour in such a big game. Could benefit from being more composed and determined in the final third.
