Liverpool earn three points from their away match against Bournemouth

Jurgen Klopp opted to play a heavily rotated Liverpool side – and it paid off perfectly.

The younger players such as Danny Ward, Connor Randall, Kevin Stewart and Sheyi Ojo all played their parts in a win over Bournemouth. While not the most important game to win, it still helped us push on towards a more respectable league finish.

Ward and Randall made their Premier League débuts in this game, and one performed significantly better than the other.

Daniel Sturridge looked far more lively, taking the shot that led to Roberto Firmino’s goal. He then found the net himself with a great header, which hopefully marks the start of a rise in his form.

This game allowed Jurgen Klopp to give the younger players a chance to impress, giving them crucial experience and helping the likes of Joe Allen and Stewart compete for a place in the bigger games.

Bournemouth got a goal back in the dying minutes of the game, and applied pressure until the end, but Liverpool managed to win in somewhat convincing fashion. Again the defence was the poorest area of the pitch, and its worrying how forgotten Steven Caulker and Martin Skrtel have become.

Liverpool need to fight on now in the league, trying to earn a better finish while focusing on their Europa League campaign. Maybe missing out on Europe next season wouldn’t be the worst outcome, unless we make Champions League of course.

It would allow us to focus on the league properly, giving a good fight in order to make the top four. It all comes down to if you prefer no European competition, or a more respectable league finish.
