8. Raul Miereles///£11m///Porto
Raul Miereles was actually a good player that Hodgson brought on board. So well in Big Woy, even if Miereles sports haircuts nowadays that would cause me to be wary to make direct eye contact with the player.
Miereles played a total of 44 matches at Liverpool in a full season and two matches in the next before being sold to Chelsea.
Hodgson did his best to make the Portugese player a failure, mind, playing him at right wing before letting him back into his preferred central midfield, where he showed form. Crazy, playing a player in his preferred position! Sound familiar, Lazar Markovic?
Miereles scored five goals in his time at Liverpool, including Liverpool’s goal of the season against Wolves. A stunning volley.
