7. Fabio Aurellio///free///free agent

This is a technicality as far as signings go.

After leaving Liverpool and becoming a free agent, Fabio Aurellio was brought back by Hodgson on a play-to-pay contract as the frangible Aurellio struggled mightily with injuries.

Aurellio wasn’t able to get over that injury issue, and didn’t feature much before leaving once again.

The Brazilian finds himself 7th here because it was a no-harm-no-foul type of move because there was no fee and it was a contract riddled with performance based pay. The names ahead of him on this list of horror cost money and were horrific. Aurellio didn’t do much of anything, it wasn’t great but it wasn’t particularly awful.
