Roberto Firmino – 5

Firmino is off form. His past few games have seen him carelessly give the ball away, and contribute far from enough in terms of chances. His goal against Bournemouth was a rebound tap-in that fell for him, and his best chance against Newcastle was an offside back post tap-in. He’s simply struggling to find that brilliant form we’ve seen before. Why he started up-top ahead of our two benched strikers, I’ll never understand. He gave the ball away far too often and played carelessly in this match. He failed to threaten goal bar one chance, and was nowhere near as effective as we needed. He should have been replaced for a striker, or at least dropped back while somebody else made way for a striker.
