Joe Allen – 7.5

Joe Allen started slow, getting nutmegged twice and firing a chance directly at the keeper. He got caught out several times, and looks strangely out of it. This was very brief however, as he then shifted into gear and produced one of the teams strongest performances. He chased everything, and was confident and composed on the ball. He rarely gave away possession, and was crucial to allowing Liverpool to get forward. He defended well too, and his gritty nature allowed him to excel.
