Liverpool predicted XI vs. Villarreal

CB Kolo Toure

Last week Toure got the nod over Martin Skrtel and earned another start with his performance in Spain. The 35-year-old has said he wants to remain at Liverpool next season based on merit, and I don’t see why he cannot be the club’s fourth or fifth central defender on the depth chart next season if that’s what he’s cool with.

Toure is a consummate professional; he’s the player all managers want in their locker room. For the fans? He’s an absolute joy to watch. Even when he makes mistakes, there’s something so vibrant and joyous about him that makes me happy. He tried to dribble a few players against Villarreal and lost the ball on the first defender. It could have launched a deadly counterattack, and if it was literally any other central defender on the roster I’d have been up in arms, but it was Kolo so I just sat back, smiled and laughed.

What a life trait that is to have.
