DM Emre Can
Speaking from common sense, no Can should not be starting. Speaking from medical opinion, no Can should not be starting.
But, from common sense and medical opinions alike, he shouldn’t have been ready to even be off crutches let alone back in training this week. If he’s fit, he’s fit. If he can play, he can play. And if that’s the case, this is a monumentous boost for Liverpool.
Can improves the quality and the mettle in the midfield for Liverpool, an anchor who can do what Lucas does defensively and offers more in attack than Joe Allen and Lucas combined, a necessary benefit against a team that will sit deep and look to counter.
