Liverpool’s Players of the Season
By Ethan Lowe
Unsung hero of the season – James Milner
With 5 goals and 11 assists, James Milner often goes unnoticed for his exceptional contributions to our side.
A versatile player who can cover most roles on the field, Milner’s experience has been crucial to Liverpool this season. With Jordan Henderson struggling due to injuries, Milner has taken the captains duties and done them well.
His tireless work ethic and engine allow him to cover almost every blade of grass throughout the game, and his defensive contributions are often as crucial as his attacking play.
His assists have been key, with the former Manchester City player whipping in crosses and almost always picking out his target.
The truth is, without Milner, I think we’d have struggled far more this season. While not a master at everything, Milner excels in the basics and the little things that matter.
Honourable mentions – Joe Allen however he’s now more recognised, Lucas Leiva for his defensive contributions and Nathaniel Clyne for his consistency.
