Player of the Season – Philippe Coutinho

This was incredibly close, and I almost gave this one to Roberto Firmino. The Brazilian duo have been exceptional this season, both contributing goals and assists to a side that’s needed them.

Philippe Coutinho pips Firmino to the post simply because of consistency. Firmino’s spell of magic was magnificent, but before and after his contributions were less stellar.

Coutinho has maintained an effective presence throughout the entire season, establishing himself as arguably Liverpool’s best player. His quick feet and exciting dribbling have proved to be one of the Reds biggest assets, and his distance shooting has bagged the magician some beautiful goals.

This goal against Manchester United highlights his skill and effectiveness, and I feel he deserves ‘Player of the season’ thanks to his considerable influence for Liverpool in all competitions.
