Liverpool earn a draw against West Bromwich Albion in the final Premier League game of the season

The biggest teams want to win every game, but somehow, this result seems perfect for us. The draw means that next season will see us playing in the Champions League, or nothing at all – so everything depends on Wednesday’s final.

A win in the final would see us playing in the Champions League, competing once again in a competition that we’ve enjoyed such a rich history of success in. Losing the final will see us capable of focusing all our time and energy into the Premier League and the cup competitions, giving us a fresher squad and an improved chance to go for a trophy.

I’m fine with both of those solutions, as they promise an exciting season no matter what. Clearly, I’d rather win a trophy and be in the Champions League more, but next season is where its at.

Today’s game against West Brom was a tough one, and I feel we got incredibly lucky. Our opposition could have scored several more past a young, inexperienced Liverpool team, but luckily they didn’t.

The biggest thing to take from this match is the return of both Danny Ings and Jordan Henderson. Our captain could be sharp to start on Wednesday, or at least make the bench, and maybe Danny Ings could sit in as a possible sub too.

Sergi Canos made his début today, and the promising youngster enjoyed a good ten minutes of the match. Hopefully he can join the likes of Sheyi Ojo and Jordon Ibe as promising prospects rising through our ranks.
