Jurgen Klopp says he hopes to be at Liverpool for seven years, after spending the same amount of time at both Mainz and Dortmund.

Jurgen Klopp has answered how long he hopes to be at Liverpool. Unfortunately for fans of the club, his answer was not “until I die.”

In Klopp’s prematch press conference in Basel ahead of the Europa League final, the German spoke on his future with reporters, via Liverpool ECHO.

"“Seven years in Liverpool hopefully. Maybe you know better what people think when I joined the club. I am not sure about it but for me it’s the only way to work to be honest.“I don’t feel the pressure. I cannot change. I feel opportunity. I feel the pressure of the game and developing players. I don’t think I have all the time in the world but I don’t think I’ve ever felt doubt around me.“If that’s right I don’t know but it makes me completely free to make decisions and for my team and myself to be free to develop together.“I came here because I was really convinced about the qualities of these players and this squad, despite the doubts people had. To see how they have reached this final gives me a really good feeling."

So there you have it, folks. Savor every second of these seven years with Klopp, and hope it turns into more.

How’s that for blind faith? Klopp is the best thing to happen to Liverpool in a long time. He’s favorite to bridge the ever elusive gap from yesteryear and folklore to building a modern footballing powerhouse, his legacy could be set to live on long after he’s gone.

But hey, maybe he stays longer than seven years. Unfortunately it’s also possible he leaves prior to that number being reached, you never know. But with Klopp, I feel confident going all in.
