16. Kolo Toure

Toure played a whole lot more than he would have expected to this season and even that was only 20 starts.

But of those 20, the last one was in a Europa League final, and he was the best defensive player on the pitch in a red shirt, if not the best red shirt in general.

Kolo scored a goal this season. And that might have been the highlight of the season for Liverpool, watching him wheel away in pure, unadulterated jubilation. It was wonderful. That, my friends, is what life is all about.

If Toure is to leave at the end of this season, it’ll be a somber day for Liverpool fans, but Father Time is undefeated.
