6. Emre Can
Can was one of the few players who avoided an injury for most of the season, until the end when he damaged ankle ligaments against Borussia Dortmund. But because he’s preternatural, he returned way earlier than expected and was instrumental in Liverpool progressing past Villarreal in the next round.
The German was alright before Klopp took over, then took off when his compatriot was named new boss. Can steadily grew into a player that couldn’t be taken out of the team and it was felt whenever he couldn’t play, moreso than Henderson.
Can started 28 matches in the league and 13 in the Europa League. He only scored one goal in each competition, but his class cannot be measured in goals and assists.
The 22 year old certainly has a bright, long future ahead of him.
